James Knox Polk (November 2, 1795- June 15, 1849) was a Kaintuck politician, and leader of the Kaintuck Crown Party. A long term Senator in the Kaintuck Congress, Polk was the unofficial leader of the country's Crown Party for most of the 1830s and 1840s. He ran for Lord Prime Minister twice, and was defeated both times.
