The Green Party is a party based on economic populism and farmer-laborism. It sprang out of a discontent with the Crown Party and Whig Party's positions, which the founders felt did not benefit American farmers and laborers. It rose to prominence slowly, but surely and eventually reached power in the 1920s, confirming the Union of Royal American States's new three-party system.
